Master Chronometer
Omega is one of the pioneers in the art of modern watchmaking. In 2015, the Biel-based manufacturer gradually began having its watches checked by METAS, the independent Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, in one of the most demanding test procedures. Afterwards, they are certified as Master Chronometers. Three requirements are necessary to achieve this certificate:
- The movement has Omega's own Co-Axial escapement
- The movement is COSC certified (= chronometer)
- The movement withstands magnetic fields of at least 15,000 gauss
The calibre 8900, installed in Omega Ref. 220.10.41.21.01.001, is a METAS-certified Master Chronometer. This movement is made of the most modern materials and is known for its exceptional precision and reliability.
