Reminiscence of historical marine watches
The Arnold & Son DSTB is a homage to classic marine watches. The charm of the original models is perfectly reflected in the visually reduced main dial with Roman numerals. But the display of the "true second" is probably the design highlight of this extraordinary timepiece: the "True Second" complication is an ingenious technical game that makes it possible to "throttle" the movement of the second hand so that it only jumps once per second, despite a balance oscillating at several hertz. The movement of the second hand is, therefore, no longer fluid - as is usually the case with automatic watches. Instead, it is divided into precise individual second steps. In this way, the Arnold & Son DSTB collection manages to make the heart of an extraordinary complication visible.
