Central brass hemisphere forms the heart of the collection
The heart of the Arnold & Son Globetrotter is a central brass hemisphere on which the northern hemisphere of the earth is stylised and which is reminiscent of a classical globe. This hemisphere is held in place by a curved bridge that runs horizontally across the dial; it completes only one rotation per day. It is framed by a fixed 24-hour scale made of printed sapphire, which can be used to determine the local time at any point in the northern hemisphere of the world. The wearer's time is displayed using a standard set of hands. Depending on the version, this "primary time" is shown using Roman numerals or baton indices.
