Breguet Type XX

Montres Breguet S.A. has been making sophisticated mechanical timepieces since the 18th century. In the early 1950s, the Manufacture was commissioned by the French Ministry of Defence to produce a pilot's watch according to specific criteria. Among other things, the watch was to have a black dial, a bi-directionally rotating bezel and a flyback chronograph.

No sooner said than done: the Breguet Type XX was launched in 1954. While the military version did not have a logo on the dial, the civil version featured the Breguet logo.

Haute Horlogerie Meets Military Pilot Watch

Breguet is still one of the epitomes of Haute Horlogerie today. While the manufacturer dedicates itself primarily to elegant dress watches with elaborate complications, Breguet Type XX is an authentic toolwatch, produced by one of the few very large luxury manufacturers. This combination is rarely found.

If you want to buy a Breguet Type XX, you should hurry: The classic model was discontinued in 2019; currently only the Type XXI and XXII models are available.
