Classic wristwatch with a modern diameter
Since its unveiling in 1945, the conventional Datejust has had a diameter of 36 millimetres. Thanks to the spirit of the times, this "boys-size" diameter was supplemented by the contemporary Datejust 41: After the 41-millimetre Rolex Datejust II launched in 2009, the Datejust 41 followed in 2016.
Despite its comparatively short production period, the watch is a fixed and enduring part of the Rolex collection. This is not only due to the Swiss manufacturer's consistent model policy, but above all to the popularity of the Datejust 41.
Sporty details
Despite its comparatively large diameter, Rolex has succeeded in perfectly proportioning the Datejust 41. Especially in comparison to the Datejust II, the Datejust 41 appears more balanced and coherent. A closer look reveals small details that distinguish the 41 variant from the 36-millimetre model:
- Presentably designed bezel
- Arabic numerals behind the indices
- Other design options (choice of dials)
