The new Hi-Beat Calibre 9S85
In 1969, Grand Seiko, a company renowned for its quartz movements, presented the first automatic watch for men (calibre 61GS). Some 40 years later, its successor was launched with a revised movement: the calibre 9S85 surpasses the original with ten semi-oscillations and is characterised by its magnetic resistance. With the help of the individual components and the creation of new manufacturing technologies, Seiko sets a high standard for hi-beat watches. The chronographs of the Grand Seiko SGBH201 continue the tradition of the SBGH001 high-speed oscillating model and are successfully establishing themselves on the market.
Demanding standard at the highest level
Seiko has long recognised the importance of a fast oscillating movement for the precision of a watch and has created innovative solutions. The movement has a long power reserve of about 55 hours and impresses with its high precision.
